Imagined Context:
I tried thinking of a structure that could double as an antenna or a "normal router" depending on the moment. I thought of it as an antenna on a high building, and that's why the tube is facing "down".
Intention:
Doubling as an antenna and a "normal router".
Process:
I began by choosing the motorcycle mirror, and thought of turning it into an antenna. Then, to add stability, I added the tripod.
Problems Encountered:
It was difficult to give stability to the object.
How Easily Reproducible is It?:
Very Much.
Design Updates:
Updated on 12/06/26 by Luca Marini. The prototype design was updated to improve stability and safety by using a plastic container to store the routing device and securing it with metal hooks and connectors to the tripod. The antenna design was improved by fully covering the reflector with aluminium tape. Finally, the components were sprayed in black to improve the visual coherence of the object.
Technical Specifications:
As the device's objective was to create a DIY functional directional antenna to enhance signal in one direction, the design was also implemented with a "Dual-Band RP-SMA Dipole Antenna, 2.4 / 5 GHz, 8 dBi" antenna, an above average powered antenna for routers.
